Creek never stops flowing
LONE PINE CREEK
After the last breakfast of our 9 days/8 nights High Sierra Trail backpacking trip, we went down to Lone Pine Creek, which was about 20 feet below our campsite, for the last time to fill up our water bottles for the rest of the hike down to Whitney Portal. The water of the creek, flowing quite nicely, was quite cold and refreshing. It was slightly emotional and sentimental to think that the trip that I had wanted to do for the last two years was already coming to an end. Of course, this wasn’t as epic as the other way longer thru-hikes, such as the Pacific Crest Trail or the Appalachian Trail. But, it’s all about the experience, and every experience is different. And most of all, I made so many great memories. A creek never stops flowing. It is always important to to remember that our journey shouldn’t either. Because every moment matters.
