Garden Wall emerging from clouds
GARDEN WALL, ANGEL WING AND GRINNELL LAKE
After a bit of hike by the elongated, pretty Josephine Lake and through the dense forest along Cataract Creek, I arrived at the glacier-fed Grinnell Lake. The towering Angel Wing at the lake, on the left, was quite a sight. The Salamander Glacier-garnished Garden Wall emerged from the spewing clouds over the the Upper Grinnell Lake ridge. The lake, 1,400 feet above where I was, was created as the Grinnell Glacier has retrieved and would be seen from the end of Grinnell Glacier Trail. I was going to hike it but got discouraged due to the amount of snow still there. Later when returning back to the trailhead, I ran into a few folks who actually managed to reach the end of the trail. I bet the view must’ve been spectacular. I should’ve stuck to my plan… Well, definitely next time.
